A day out at the PARTIZAN wargames show...

Diskworld witch racing (a bit like "Formula D"... but with witches on broomsticks!)

Some interesting terrain - I liked the red netting lava!

Peg Wars! - Colonial era wargames with painted wooden dolly pegs!

More peg wars...

Frostgrave demo table from North Star games...

Lots of demonstration games...

Slightly bemused daughter...

Some nice scenery...

More nice scenery...

Very impressive Scenery...

Some very impressive scenery indeed!

Looking down the length of the hall...

My daughter and I went for a day out to the Partizan Wargames Show at Newark Showground today. There were participation games, demo games, and lots of interesting stalls and things to see. I picked up some supplies: paints, brushes, mdf bases, some scenery bits & magnets.... my daughter got some interesting dice for her collection, and we tried out a couple of games -  A sci-fi Skirmish game from Mantic called WARPATH... which seemed quite simple - didn't really grab me, but they simplified the rules for the demo apparently... my daughter really enjoyed the Diskworld Witch racing game ( a twist on a "Formula D" style racing game) which was fun. Some really impressive models, and scenery to be seen, and inspirational paint jobs on some lovely figures. An hours drive from our house, but definitely worth the trip!
