Shadows of Brimstone... more paint jobs...
I've been working on painting a bunch of Shadows of Brimstone related stuff... some official miniatures, some alternative models... and some just for fun...
Dark Stone Brutes
Some alternative Nuns as heroes. The nun with gun is from Reaper Minis... the others are from Conquest Games.
Some alternative zombies / spectres (from Black Scorpion)
Tentacles (2 sets)
Preacher (Black Scorpion)... no rules for horses in the game, so this one's just for fun.
Targa Pylons
Hungry Dead

Shadows of Brimstone... Heroes and lava dudes...
I thought I'd tackle the Shadows of Brimstone Heroes first, before the monsters... they've taken a while, the lighting in our kitchen is really bad, so I can only really sit down and do a bit of painting when I get a bit of time during daylight hours. I'm pleased with how they've turned out anyhow...
I sliced off the lady gunslinger's face when I was cutting her off the sprue... I glued it back on in an unsatisfactory manner... doesn't look too bad now she's painted...
Lava Men from the Caverns of Cyndar... These were fun to paint!
The following figures are all from the Black Scorpion Miniatures "Tombstone" line...I bought them for extra characters - They're resin, and much better quality than the Shadows of Brimstone models...
This guy is my favourite! Now the only figure I'm missing is a Nun! I'm returning to 15mm Sci-fi for my next painting project.... and then on to the Shadows of Brimstone monsters...

SCOOBY GANG - Zombicide cards (my version)
I did my own versions of the Scooby Gang character cards for Zombicide (I took the ones that someone had posted on boardgamegeek that seemed a bit incomplete/unclear) and I made a dog companion card for Scooby himself....

Scooby Doo Gang!!
I've had a break from the Super Dungeon Explore monsters, and I've been painting the Scooby Doo gang over the xmas holidays. I got them from Hasslefree Miniatures in the UK. I'm going to use them In Zombicide and Betrayal at the house on the Hill... I love Scooby Doo - and I think it will be a good way of getting the kids involved in a bit of spooky horror gaming when they're a bit older. They're really good quality figures, and very nice to paint....

Re-Paints....Betrayal At The House On The Hill
I got a cheap copy of the Betrayal at the House on the Hill boardgame in the Amazon "Black Friday" thing at the end of last year. I re-painted the plastic minis. This is them.

Birthday Zombicide....
For my birthday this year I thought I'd invite some old "non-gamer" friends over to play Zombicide. These guys are all into the Walking Dead and classic zombie stuff, and they were all up for giving it a go. My friend Kes from the Sheffield Boardgames club brought over his copy of the game and he talked everyone through the rules. I really enjoyed the game - and I think everyone else did too... there were a few confused faces at times, and the game went on quite a long time... so two people didn't last right to the end, but Alan, Kes and myself stuck it out (taking over the extra characters)...
We did the first scenario from the original rulebook, but with extra toxic zombies from the expansion set... 3 Characters made it off the board in the end after reaching all the objectives and collecting the food resources we needed. Towards the end Alan was swarmed and eaten by zombies when he opened a door and the zombies got an extra activation... and Kes was last seen stuck in a building completely surrounded by the zombie horde with no hope of escape....
The next day everyone was talking about playing again sometime now that they know what's going on... I think I'll suggest a shorter/faster game with a smaller board next time so people don't lose interest...

My friend Sid surprised me by creating this image... took me a few seconds to realise that it was my house in the background!
